Ellen Jaffe Jones
Ellen Jaffe Jones ( is an inspiring motivational speaker, personal trainer, running coach, author, and instructor of healthy cooking classes.

As a former investigative reporter and anchor for 18 years in major market TV news, Ellen won 2 Emmys and the National Press Club award. She wrote her first book, Eat Vegan on $4 a Day, after seeing too many news stories saying eating healthfully was impossible on a budget.

Ellen, an accomplished endurance and sprint runner, has won 104 5K+ Age Group awards since 2006. She placed 7th in US National Senior Games, W60-64 1500 Meters in 2013, and 1st in Florida’s W60-64, 50, 100, 200, 400, 800, and 1500 meters races in 2014. In 2014 Ellen was also named PETA’s “Sexiest Vegan over 50.”

She combined all of her skill sets with her latest release, Vegan Fitness for Mortals. Recognizing that fitness and diet are two sides of the same coin, Ellen developed routines for a variety of activities along with dietary recommendations that augment fitness—a winning combination designed to help anyone achieve a healthier lifestyle.

Jenna Bardroff, Kevin Layton, & Sean Gloria
Jenna, Kevin, and Sean are representatives of Solutionary Species, a growing educational organization committed to creating a healthy, compassionate, and sustainable world. A solutionary thinks holistically and conscientiously about solutions for animals, the environment, and people.

Being vegetarian by personal choice since the age of 5, Jenna has always been motivated by the reward of making the world a more compassionate place. At 14 years old, Jenna initiated her first animal education program at a unique sanctuary, the same year she began college and adopted a 100% vegan lifestyle. She has a B.S. degree in Integrative Biology, a Master of Arts degree in Humane Education, and has spent over 10 years researching the solutions to and consequences of problematic cultural eating behaviors.

Kevin is a master automotive collision repair technician and uses critical thinking skills each and every day to solve problems. He is a perfect example of how anyone can be a solutionary, regardless of their experiences, career orientation, etc. All his life, Kevin has enjoyed spending time in nature and has developed a responsibility to speak out for environmental protection.

As a highly ambitious individual, Sean has a strong passion for reading, writing, learning, traveling, and being a solutionary. With his interest in studying small business, the arts, and social justice, the Solutionary Species team likes to consider Sean their go-to “people person.” Residing with his girlfriend, Kayla and their Siberian husky, Luna in St. Petersburg, Sean is a creative and vital asset to the vision and goals for Solutionary Species.

Sean and his girlfriend, Kayla, and Kevin and Jenna are known as unstoppable rock climbing, humane educating, nature loving, vegan power couples. They continue their pursuit to transform humans from a problematic species to a solutionary species, a species empowered by the desire and responsibility to find solutions for people, animals, and the environment.

Kathleen Del Chairo & Robin Bryce
Kathleen Del Chairo and Robin Bryce are two organizers with The Save Movement, which is comprised of more than 115 groups worldwide who bear witness to farmed animals en route to slaughter. The goal of The Save Movement is to raise awareness about the plight of farmed animals, to build a mass-based, grassroots animal justice movement, and to help people become vegan. Join Kathleen and Robin to learn more about The Save Movement, the work being done, and how you can get involved in starting a group in your area.    

Adam Sugalski
Adam, Founding Board Member/Executive Director of OneProtestis an animal protection warrior who has most recently lead a national coalition of activists to fight, and successfully STOP the 2016 bear hunt in Florida. Adam believes strongly in utilizing professional activism to raise public awareness and end the most cruel forms of animal abuse. Adam is also dedicated to supporting activists across the nation by sharing his wealth of experience in mobilizing the strong voice of the people to stand up and affect real change. Adam brings many years of experience in building and supporting a plethora of national and local non-profits dedicated to animal protection, hands-on undercover work, and a strong artist background to his fight for those least able to fight for themselves. Adam is also regularly called upon to speak on national radio, television, and at academic institutions. Adam is a published author and the winner of the 2016 Matthew Eyton Animal Activist Award. Psychology Today- 10-15-2015  

Jill Welch
Jill  Welch, The Kitchen Goddess, is  a  natural  foods  educator  and  chef  with  over  20  years'  experience  in  helping  people  improve   their  diet  and  lifestyle,  lose  weight  and  stabilize  their  moods  by  adopting  a  natural  foods  way  of  life. She   helps  people  change  their  diet  through  leading  cleanse  classes,  wellness  coaching,  and  teaching  cooking   classes.  She  is  also  a  private chef.  


Dr. Sharon Ames-Dennard
Chef Sharon, affectionately known as "The Psych Chef," serves up food for the mind and body at Nefetari's Fine Cuisine & Spirits where she is the Executive Chef. She hails from the Eastern Shore of Virginia. She has traveled extensively and considers herself a foodie connoisseur. 

She learned her culinary skills the old fashioned way, at the feet of her parents, aunts and uncles. When she's not cooking or concocting recipes, she wears her other hat as a licensed clinical psychologist serving the Tallahassee community. She is married to Dana Dennard and has 4 adult children.

Kia Damon
Kia Damon is a cook at Sweet Pea Cafe and an Intern at Ripe City Urban Farm. Her passion is Farm to Table cooking, cycling and her cat JJ. She wants to make a career of the culinary arts and make sustainable cooking and organic food more accessible to everyone.
